MANAGER, PRIVATE HUNTING RANCH, SW TEXAS
4,000 highly improved acres in the Edwards Plateau between Rock Springs and Del Rio in the middle of approx. 50,000 acres all LOW fenced. The ranch has 40 blinds and feeders and abundant water throughout. Game includes: big whitetail deer, trophy Rio Grande turkeys, massive wild hogs, white wing and morning dove, three kinds of quail, mountain goats and sheep. No public or commercial hunts. Only family and guests of the four owners are permitted. This is the ideal job for a couple that loves the outdoors, wildlife conservation and ranch life.
Headquarters compound consists of 4 recently constructed homes of the 4 owners and a brand new, never occupied 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with porches/decks front and back for the successful applicant to this offering.
- maintaining the feeders and blinds, fence lines, vehicles and the houses and landscape in the headquarters compound.
- Performing general repair and maintenance on the wells and irrigation lines.
- Cleaning and butchering game.
- maintaining ranch roads, mowing road sides and senderos.
- Cleaning owner’s homes and washing and changing linens in owner’s houses.
- Occasional cooking or assistance to owner’s in cooking.
Duties include:In addition to the brand new home, the Manager is provided a ranch truck and all gasoline, all utilities, 2 weeks vacation and a salary commensurate with experience and capabilities. One person in the couple being conversant in Spanish is helpful but not a disqualifier. It is 50 minutes to Del Rio or Rock Springs so must be comfortable with being “out”! Work is sufficiently strenuous that physical capabilities is a requirement.
Support equipment provided includes a John Deer tractor for mowing and towing, a recent model skid steer and ALL the attachments for everything else; a complete workshop with everything needed for any work with wood, or metal; trailers to move skid steer, welding and cutting equipment, power and hand tools for every job.
